  National Advocacy Service for People with Disabilities (2010)

  Under the remit given to CIB under the Citizens Information Act, a pilot Programme of independent Advocacy Services for people with disabilities has been funded and supported by CIB since late 2005. Round Table Mediation and Training evaluated this programme during 2009. Their evaluation report was completed in early 2010.

  Mapping Self-Advocacy Initiatives for People with Intellectual Disability in Ireland (2008)

  The Citizens Information Board commissioned this research to identify existing self advocacy initiatives and gaps in the availability of self advocacy supports to people with an intellectual disability in Ireland. Developing self-advocacy among groups and individuals is an important part of encouraging participation among people with disabilities.

  All known service providers for intellectual disability were surveyed for details of self advocacy initiatives within their service(s). Approximately 50% responded to the questionnaire.

  Advocacy Resource Pack (revised March 2008)

  The Citizens Information Board has developed an Advocacy Resource Pack as an aid to the Community and Voluntary Sector Programme. The Pack covers setting up procedures for projects, Steering Group terms of reference, information on case management and on reporting to the CIB. It includes a list or projects and advocates which is regularly updated.
