Budget Day 2027 on citizensinformation.ie and social media channels
Budget Day 2027 took place on Tuesday 6 October 2026 and is the busiest day each year for citizensinformation.ie.
The Citizens Information website saw 155,855 visits and 239,914 page views, almost 3 times the expected web traffic on an average Tuesday. The Budget 2027 page saw 73,019 page views which accounts for 40% of all visits to the website on Budget Day. This is an increase of 23% compared to Budget 2026 and 14% increase compared to Budget 2025, showing that more people are going directly to Citizens Information for Budget updates.
The Social Welfare rates 2027 page was the most viewed page of Budget Day 2027 with 8,172 page views. Other popular topics included:
- Fuel Allowance changes
- New cost of disability payment
- How Budget measures would affect their personal circumstances
Our new AI tool, AskCI.ie answered 2,213 questions on Budget Day and a further 1,960 questions the following day, with hundreds of queries focused on Budget changes and eligibility.
On social media, we shared 18 Budget Day posts across Facebook and Instagram, reaching more than 261,000 views and generating over 13,000 engagements. Engagement was up 500% compared with the previous day.
