Training services
The Citizens Information Board recognises the importance of having fully trained staff available to offer a quality service so therefore provides training services nationwide to Citizens Information Services and the Citizens Information Phone Service.
- CIS Level 1 Training gives new Information Providers the competence to operate at level 1 and would include completion of the CIB Information Providers Induction Training Programme and additional classroom based training facilitated by Development Managers in local CISs.
- CIS Level 2 Training enables Information Providers to operate independently in a CIS providing information, advice and assistance. The online Essential Training for Information Providers (ETIP) Programme is designed to meet this level.
- CIS Levels 3 & 4 Training is targeted at Information Providers who require a higher level of training to enable them to deal with more complex queries and to carry out advocacy work. This training is provided by the Level 6 QQI-accredited Information Provision & Advocacy Practice (IPAP) Programme, currently delivered by the Technical University of Dublin (Blanchardstown) and supported by advanced one day advocacy training events.
- Other one-day training events being offered by the local CIS network complement CIB’s training offer by providing practical skills training such as Reception Skills (Internal trainers), SUSI workshops (External trainers).
