Abhaile is the independent, confidential and free State-funded scheme to help mortgage holders in arrears to find the best solution to keep them, wherever possible, in their own homes.

A dedicated adviser will work with borrowers in mortgage arrears and with their lender to find the best solution for each unique situation. They will ensure the borrower can access expert financial and legal advice and support.

The Abhaile scheme is jointly coordinated and funded by the Department of Justice and Equality and the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection. MABS, the Insolvency Service of Ireland, the Legal Aid Board and the Citizens Information Board are working together to administer the Abhaile scheme.
