Chairperson of the Board

Role Description:
The role of the Chairperson is to preside over Board meetings of the company and involves a wide range of responsibilities. The responsibilities of the chairperson are as follows:
• Chair Board meetings as set out in company constitution and further set out in the company standing orders
• Plan meetings and develop the agenda in conjunction with the Company Secretary and/or the most senior member of staff
• Provide leadership and ensure the effective operation of the Governing Body
• Ensure that decisions made at meetings are implemented in a timely manner to support the delivery of the strategy
• Work closely with the chairpersons of standing committees and any other committees
established by the Board
• Work closely with the company’s Regional Manager and other such persons that may be nominated
• Be the line manager of the Regional Manager and undertake the supervision and appraisal of the Regional Manager or delegate to other such persons as the chairperson considers appropriate
• Provide a focus for the Board of the company.
• May act as a spokesperson for the company and/or the Board.
• Sign and certify the annual accounts for the company and other such financial or compliance reports required. CIB.
• Maintain, continue, and strengthen the Company’s relationship with CIB (and with their
national and regional service delivery partners.
