CIB is saddened by the passing of former Chief Executive, Leonie Lunny
The Citizens Information Board is saddened to learn of the passing of former Chief Executive, Leonie Lunny.
Leonie was appointed Director of the National Social Services Board in 1988 and became the Chief Executive of Comhairle following the merger of the NSSB and the National Rehabilitation Board in 2000. In 2007, Comhairle was renamed the Citizens Information Board.
During her career with the NSSB, Comhairle and the Citizens Information Board, Leonie had a particular focus on information and the use of technology to benefit the public. Working with organisations in the community and voluntary sector, she was instrumental in establishing advocacy services for people with disabilities. Leonie retired from the Citizens Information Board in 2008, having put in place many of the systems and services still in operation in the organisation today.
May she rest in peace.
