AskCI recognised at Better Public Services Awards 2026

The Citizens Information Board (CIB) was proud to be nominated at this year’s Better Public Services Awards for AskCI, our AI-powered chatbot for Citizens Information.

AskCI was shortlisted in the Digital First category under Pillar 1: Digital and Innovation at Scale, recognising its role in helping people access trusted information about public services, rights and entitlements in a new and user-friendly way. AskCI is the first public service chatbot of its kind in Ireland, providing answers based only on verified content from the citizensinformation.ie website.

AskCI is now used by an average of 900 people every day, showing strong public demand for conversational access to reliable public service information. AskCI can respond in Irish and other languages when questions are asked in those languages.

CIB congratulates all the winners and nominees, and thanks the Better Public Services Awards team, the evaluators, our partners in the Department of Social Protection and the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) for their support.
