Citizens Information Services (CIS) 2024 Year in Review Report – Highlighting the Valuable Work of the CIS across Ireland

The Citizens Information Board is pleased to present 'Citizens Information Services – A Year in Review 2024'. This report showcases the vital role Citizens Information played in providing trusted information, advice, and advocacy services across Ireland throughout the year.

In 2024, the Citizens Information network assisted 395,017 people, and answered 767,168 queries on key topics such as social welfare, housing, health, and employment.

A major highlight of the year was the launch of the Digital Help Service, designed to support individuals at risk of digital exclusion and align with the Digital Ireland Framework. The Digital Help Service was rolled out across 14 Citizens Information Centres, helping people access essential online government platforms including MyRevenue, MyWelfare, NDLS, and MyGovID. This initiative contributed to a 41% increase in queries related to online access compared to 2023.

Customer feedback was overwhelmingly positive in 2024. The report details that 96% of clients reported they felt better after their visit and 98% saying they would recommend the service. Advocacy efforts also delivered strong results, achieving successful outcomes in nearly 70% of cases.

Citizens Information Services are funded and supported by the Citizens Information Board, with in-person advice available at 90 Citizens Information Centres nationwide, staffed by trusted Information Officers.
