Citizens Information Board attends the SOLAS Literacy Changing Lives Showcase

The Citizens Information Board (CIB) was pleased to participate in the Literacy Changing Lives showcase, hosted by SOLAS on 16 June at Croke Park. The annual event brought together partners from across the Adult Literacy for Life (ALL) strategy to celebrate the progress made in advancing adult literacy throughout Ireland.

As an active coalition partner, CIB is committed to support initiatives that promote literacy, numeracy, and digital inclusion, key enablers of access to information, services, and full participation in society. The showcase featured a wide range of innovative projects from across the country and offered valuable insights into how local and national efforts are bringing the ALL strategy to life.

The event included a World Café session, keynote addresses, and interactive workshops, which provided a platform for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and the exchange of best practices among stakeholders.

Some of the projects showcased by the Citizens Information Service and the Money, Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS) included the Managing a Sustainable Home course and Citizens Information Digital Help Project. MABS also delivered a financial literacy workshop which aims to build understanding in financial literacy education.

CIB welcomed the opportunity to connect with fellow coalition members and continues to support the advancement of literacy as a cornerstone of social inclusion and empowerment.

CIB’s Digital Content team were interviewed about the impact of using Plain language on citizensinformation.ie for the ‘Let’s talk about Plain language’ course.
