CIB attends the launch of the Department of Social Protection’s reformed Wage Subsidy Scheme

CIB was delighted to attend the launch today, Wednesday 4 June, of the DSP’s reformed Wage Subsidy Scheme. The updates were launched by the Taoiseach, Micheál Martin TD, Minister for Social Protection, Dara Calleary TD, Minister for Children, Disability and Equality, Norma Foley TD, and Minister of State with responsibility for Disability, Hildegarde Naughton TD. The Wage Subsidy Scheme provides financial support to employers who employ people with disabilities.

Following a review, the Minister has introduced significant updates to the Wage Subsidy Scheme, expanding opportunities for employers across the private, community, voluntary and not-for-profit sectors to hire and support people with disabilities.

The citizensinformation.ie website provides comprehensive, up-to-date information on a wide range of public services and entitlements in Ireland. It features a comprehensive section on employment and disability, offering clear guidance on workplace supports and entitlements for people with disabilities, including the Wage Subsidy Scheme. Notably, in 2025, this scheme has emerged as the most visited page within the Employment and Disability section — accounting for 25% of all visits — highlighting the strong public interest in this vital support.
