CIB welcomes the launch of Abhaile’s “Open Door” awareness campaign

The Citizens Information Board (CIB) welcomes the launch of the 2025 “Open Door” awareness campaign for Abhaile – Free and Confidential Mortgage Arrears Support Service. It has been developed to raise public awareness of Abhaile and the assistance it provides to homeowners in mortgage arrears. The campaign is now live across radio, out-of-home, video-on-demand, digital audio, social media and search.

The media plan is designed to achieve sustained national reach while ensuring that core messages remain consistent in every channel. Continuous paid and organic social activity, together with search-engine marketing and the addition of Bing Ads, will maintain visibility throughout the year.

“Abhaile provides vital and free support to households facing mortgage arrears,” said Bobby Barbour, Abhaile Communications Manager. “This campaign delivers a clear reminder that expert help is readily available, and we are pleased to lend our support to its rollout. The door is open to help, hope and support.”

If you or anyone you know may be struggling with mortgage arrears, then call the National Helpline on 0818 07 2000 or visit mabs.ie/abhaile to learn more.

Abhaile is a Government of Ireland initiative designed to provide a wide range of services to homeowners in arrears in Ireland. These include debt, financial, insolvency, and legal support with the goal of keeping people in their homes, where feasible. The service is co-funded by the Departments of Social Protection and Justice. The Citizens Information Board, MABS, the Insolvency Service of Ireland, and the Legal Aid Board have come together to facilitate its operation.
