New Data Hub

The Citizens Information Board launched a new Data Hub in January 2022 which provides access to data on Callers and Queries to the national network of Citizens Information Services. This resource features anonymised data on service users, queries and trends and aims to provide easy access for a range of stakeholders to up-to-date statistics on a quarterly and annual basis. The Data Hub profiles the wide range of statistical information on the issues that services are assisting the public with across all aspects of rights and entitlements. The focus is on headline trends – who uses Citizens Information Services (CISs); the information and advice they are looking for; which query categories are most prevalent and what information needs are emerging. Top queries across key categories such as social welfare, housing, employment rights, health and Covid-19 related issues are analysed.

In 2021, CISs dealt with over 338,000 callers and almost 700,000 queries.
