Aim
This training is to provide participants with an overview of recent changes to employment law legislation, the operation of redundancy related legislation and guidance on useful resources in the area of employment law.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course participants should be able to:

  • outline the current position on the minimum wage and implications for existing employees;
  • explain the redundancy process and redundancy-related legislation;
  • explain an employee's rights when faced with redundancy (voluntary and compulsory);
  • explain options available to employees in cases of difficulties arising relating to redundancy payment;
  • outline the role of the Employment Appeals Tribunal as it applies to redundancy:
  • outline the Insolvency Payments Scheme
  • list resource agencies and websites on the above topics.
