completed the Information Providers Programme (IPP) and
have a good understanding of the course topic or have at
least one year's experience of giving information to the
public.

Aim
This training is to take participants through the Social
Welfare appeals process using a step by step approach.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course participants should be able
to:
- identify what decisions can be put to the Social Welfare Appeals Office
- advise on alternative methods of dealing with refused applications;
- explain the documentation that supports Social Welfare Appeals for the different payment categories
- use the procedures at an appeals oral hearing
- perform an appeal on behalf of a client.
