Courses at Level 2 are for Information Providers who have completed the Information Providers Programme (IPP) and have a good understanding of the course topic or have at least one year's experience of giving information to the public.

Aim    
This training is to enable participants to give information on the training and educational options available to people who are newly unemployed.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course participants should be able to:

  • explain how the National Framework of Qualification (NFQ) in Ireland functions
  • outline current training and education government initiatives including Post Leaving Certificate programmes, Third Level programmes, Adult and Life- long learning initiatives, Vocational Education programmes and European education programmes.
  • analyse new initiatives under the Labour Market activation fund including Springboard, Internships, TUS programme and local partnership and enterprise board education and training options targeted at people who are unemployed.
  • outline the options, access routes, criteria, terms and condition of each programme
  • name the relevant organisations that newly unemployed should relate to.
