Aim    
This training is to ensure that information providers, particularly those working in CICs, increase their capacity to respond to queries from individuals and families who have been affected by drug/alcohol misuse and related issues.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course participants should be able to:

  • demonstrate a heightened awareness of a broad range of substance related issues
  • display a clear understanding of the approach that is currently used in providing information and support to those affected
  • demonstrate the necessary skills to deal with queries emerging in a substance related context
  • outline the relevant resources and support services in the region in order to deal effectively with queries from those affected by drug/alcohol misuse or make appropriate referrals.
