Aim
To provide participants with an understanding of the Social
Welfare Appeals System, its structures, procedures and
practices.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course participants should be able
to:
- explain the role and function of the Social Welfare Appeals Office
- outline the major cases for appeal
- identify the steps required to make an appeal
- explain the procedures at an oral hearing
- research/plan and present information effectively and comprehensively for presentation to Social Welfare Appeal's Officer
- identify the determinants which shape The Appeal Officer's final decision and pay particular attention to the conclusions
