Accredited advocacy training course

In partnership with the Institute of Technology Sligo and the Equality Authority, the Citizens Information Board has been developing and supporting the Higher Certificate in Arts in Advocacy Studies since October 2004. The course, delivered by distance learning, is fully accredited at certificate level and provides progression within the third level system. More than forty students have graduated from this programme to date, many of whom now work as advocates.

In 2007 Waterford Institute of Technology began delivering the course through their Adult education department in Waterford.

The Institute of Technology Sligo is now inviting new applications for the course. Students may also take single modules.

The deadline for applications will be September 1st 2010.
