EuroWatchers home budgeting programme wins VEC 'Building Partnerships' Award

December 2009

EuroWatchers, the home budgeting programme developed with staff from the Money Advice and Budgeting Service National Development Ltd., (MABS NDL), MABS Iarthair Dhun na nGall and North Donegal MABS, together with Donegal VEC, has been awarded the 'Building Partnerships' award by the VEC National Partnership Forum (the VEC National Partnership Forum has been set up to support VECs in the implementation of modernisation and change). The award recognises partnership initiatives between organisations - in this instance, two organisations pooling resources and expertise to create a programme which better-serves the needs of the target group. Eurowatchers was launched by Minister Mary Hanafin, T.D. in September 2009 and is being made available through local VECs to groups in their local communities, with the programme being delivered by a VEC tutor, with some input from a local Money Adviser. Further information available from Carol Dunne in MABS NDL (01 8129350). Congratulations to all involved in bringing EuroWatchers to life.
