A Newcomer's Guide to County Tipperary and A Newcomer's Guide to the South East

May 2007

A Newcomer's Guide to Co. Tipperary is a leaflet packed with useful information for people coming to live throughout the county.

It provides essential information about a range of services available in the counties in order to make moving here easier for newcomers, whether they are coming from other parts of Ireland or from another country.

A more detailed Newcomer's Guide to the South East supplements the Guide, which is available in English, Polish, Russian and Czech.

The Guides are now available free of charge from County Council offices, Health Service centres, FAS offices, Citizens Information Centres, VEC offices, Tax offices, the Department of Social & Family Affairs and from other community resource centres. The Guides can also be downloaded from county council websites and in all public libraries.

The guide was launched at the Tipperary Institute on Wednesday 18th April by Mr Tom Barry Chairperson Co. Tipperary Citizens Information Service. Separate guides were also launched throughout the South East in counties, Wexford, Waterford, Kilkenny and Carlow.

The launch was the culmination of two years' work by people throughout the South East.

The need for such a Guide has grown as the country experiences a large influx of people for whom many of our systems and procedures are difficult to understand.
