Free Legal Advice Centre at Wexford CIS Celebrates its 10th Anniversary
The Wexford Free Legal Advice Centre, staffed by volunteer solicitors and run through the Wexford Citizens Information Service celebrated its 10th Anniversary, recently. Ms Noeline Blackwell, CEO, Free Legal Advice Centres (FLAC), was honorary guest speaker at an event to celebrate the occasion in the Irish National Heritage Park, Ferrycarrig.
The title of Ms Blackwell's talk was 'Towards a more equal society through access to law.' Noeline Blackwell is Director General of FLAC and is a solicitor. She is a trustee of Front Line, the international foundation for human rights defenders at risk and a vice-president of the international human rights organisation FIDH (the International Federation for Human Rights). She sits on the board of the Immigrant Council of Ireland and the Citizens Information Board.
The 10th Anniversary celebration was an opportunity to acknowledge and thank the volunteer solicitors involved in the service. FLAC currently provides legal information and advice through the 21 centres it administers directly, as well as an additional 49 Citizens Information Centres.
County Wexford Citizens Information Service operates the Enniscorthy, Gorey, New Ross and Wexford Citizens Information Centres.
