Vote for Citizens Information - Better Together Video Competition

November 2015

As part of the "Celebrating Volunteers" theme this year, the Citizens Information Board have entered the Better Together Video Competition. The competition is run annually by The Wheel to help promote the work of voluntary and community based organisations. The video, filmed at the National Ploughing Championships, promotes the work of Citizens Information in general and the important contribution that volunteers make to the service.

It provides an opportunity for the Citizens Information Service to showcase its work to a large audience of potential viewers. Over 400,000 people watched the entries last year. It is a chance to connect with the public, generate awareness of the service and recruit new volunteers. The top ten videos who have received most votes in each category will be shortlisted. While there is a prize of €2,000 - a key benefit will be to raise awareness of the Citizens Information Service.

The closing date for voting is November 20th. We would urge you to vote and encourage family and friends to vote also. You will be able to vote once a day, every day, until 5pm on Friday, November 20th. Please click here to vote.

The video has been produced by the CIB Training Team in conjunction with the Young Irish Film Makers, based in Kilkenny.

The winners will be announced at the Better Together Awards on Wednesday, 9th December from 6pm to 9.30pm at Dublin Castle.
