South Leinster Citizens Information Service CLG is currently seeking to recruit an Advocacy Support Worker (Tullamore Centre location), anticipated/envisaged start date in or around end of February 2019.
Citizens Information Services provide free, confidential and impartial information, advice and advocacy services to the public on social services, rights and entitlements.
The main purpose of the role is:
- To support the provision of advocacy in South Leinster Citizens Information Service in adherence to standardised policies, practice and quality standards.
- To enhance the capacity of South Leinster Citizens Information Service to deliver mainstream advocacy as part of an integrated information, advice and advocacy service to the general public and particularly to people with disabilities
- To support South Leinster Citizens Information Services collaboration with the National Advocacy Service for People with Disabilities and to ensure seamless access for people with disabilities to the Citizens Information Services and to and from the National Advocacy Service for People with Disabilities.
Ideally, candidates should hold a relevant third level qualification. Applicants should have a knowledge of social services, information, advice, advocacy provision, excellent communication skills and a high level of computer literacy. Experience in representational skills is desirable.
Salary scale: €42,658-€48,334. It is anticipated that new entrants to South Leinster Citizens Information Service will be appointed on the 1st point of the scale. Incremental credit, should it be awarded, will be based on previous relevant experience as set out on application form and cover letter.
