Kildare MABS Celebrates 20 Years of Service
Kildare MABS celebrated 20 years of service at an event held in the Westgrove Hotel, last month.
The Chairperson, Michael Hughes welcomed staff and Board members both past and present to the event. He also thanked the key stakeholders who attended including the Citizens Information Board, MABS National Development, local St Vincent de Paul, Credit Unions and the local Citizens Information Service. Michael paid a special tribute to all the staff of Kildare MABS whose professional and pleasant manner contribute to the positive atmosphere in both offices of Newbridge and Kilcock.
Speaking at the event Catherine Murphy TD said: “I’m delighted to be here to pay tribute to the staff of Kildare MABS. The service is held in high regard by not only the public but the political representatives of the county”.
Sean O Feargháil, Ceann Comhairle, also paid tribute to the staff of Kildare MABS and in particular the Money Advice Coordinator, Paddy Lavery. Una Tobin, CIB, thanked the Board and staff for their many years of dedication. She said: “The service is as important now as it was 20 years ago. Now more than ever debt and money problems, including mortgage debt, continue to be a challenge for people. Many clients have more than one type of debt. MABS looks at each client’s situation as a whole and seek to find solutions that provide the best possible outcome for that client”.
The evening concluded with an informal celebration which was attended by staff, Board members, stakeholders and special guests.
